BYE GAMES AND WALKOVERS
Back in the 1800's (in the early days of the FA Cup) we received Byes or Walkovers in the following games:
The final game in this list is the 1889 first-round FA Cup game against Linfield Athletic that was interesting. We drew 1-1 in the first game, but Linfield scratched before the replay, giving us a free pass into the second round. However we had already travelled to Linfield so played the game as a friendly, losing 3-1!.
