ABANDONED GAMES
We have been involved in just a handful of games that were abandoned midway though, and most of them were weather related. The notable exceptions to that included the League game against Leeds in 1968 when a fire in the Main Stand left us homeless for six games, the FA Cup Semi Final against Liverpool that was abandoned due to the Hillsborough disaster and the League Cup game against Leicester City that was abandoned at half-time due to the collapse of Leicester player Clive Clarke.John Winfield and Sammy Chapman were both involved in four abandoned games (the four league and FA Cup games between 1967 and 1973) while Peter Hindley and Barry Lyons were involved in three of them.
