The Inter-Cities Fairs Cup was a FIFA organized competitition between 1955 and 1971. It was designed to be held between cities that were holding Trade Fairs but soon came to be open to clubs based on thier league position. It was as forerunner to the UEFA Cup, which was started in 1971 when the Fairs Cup was abolished.
