A Testimonial is a game that a club plays for one of it's long-serving players (or staff) and is a way of saying thank you as well as earning them some money. Staff and officials all work for free and gate receipts are passed to the player. We don't play as many testimonials as we used to, probably because players don't stay at one club long enough to earn the right (and they're paid so much that they don't need it anyway).
