POINTS DEDUCTIONS!

Did you know Forest have had points deducted TWICE?

The obvious loss of points was in the 2023-24 season when we were docked four, for financial irregularities.

However, way back in 1890 (in the second season of the Football Alliance) we were docked the 2 points we earned for the 5-1 victory away at Bootle.
Goalkeeper Tom Widdowson was deemed ineligible to play despite the fact he'd played several games for us already, so I assume this was a new regulation (although he also played a game in the previous season's Alliance League).
Either way, it didn't affect our league standing - we finished 5th that season, with no promotion or relegation in place.

For the record, Rotherham United have been disciplined in four different season for a total of 40 points while Luton have seen 40 points disappear in just two seasons! Here's the breakdown of who's been sanctioned:
