ACADEMY - EFL TROPHY
In 2023-24, our Academy team was invited to play in the EFL Trophy (the tournament for 3rd and 4th tier teams) and it looks like the tradition will carry on. I'm including these EFL Trophy results here, but the actual stats won't count to the CityGrounds.com's database as these aren't First Team games. (But, of course, the First Team has also played in the League Trophy...here are the results)So, here's a list of the EFL Trophy games that our Under 21 team has played:

We finished second in the group so advanced to the knockout round but that's where the run ended as we got trounced 3-0 away at Doncaster Rovers.

We finished third this season, so didn't make it to the knockout round. The draw against Wigan meant an automatic penalty shoot out, with Wigan getting an extra point for the shoot-out win.
