Former player Martin O'Neill came back to management after a few years out of the game to take over the managerial role after Aitor Karanka's dismissal, and it wasn't the fairy tail we hoped for. Martin took charge of 19 games from January 2019 through to the end of the season, but left in the summer with stories about how the players weren't gelling with him and his training tactics. Good man, though!
