Review
Oh my word. This season just gets better. After a win at Anfield and a point at Chelsea, we now get all three at Old Trafford. To be fair, Man Utd are not the team they were 29 years, 11 months ago when we last won at this ground, but we still needed to expose their frailties and we did that today. Our first goal (in the second minute, and remember last year here?) was a beauty from Nikola Malenkovic (and his first for us). But Morgan Gibbs-White and then Chris Wood both made their keeper and defence look silly. First, Gibb-White hit a shot straight down the center of the goal that Onana missed by moving just one foot te wrong way. And then Chris Woods looping header into the far corner of the net was almost watched in by Onana and two defenders. Good times. So we hung to get our first win at Old Trafford in nearly 30 years, and Chris Wood becomes our leading scorer in the Premier League with his 25th goal in this competition. And another stat that completely blew me away was this the first time ever that we won at both Old Trafford and Anfield in the same season! Our 8 wins at Liverpool and, now, 7 at Man Utd were previously in different years, with the exception of 2024-25. More good times.
