Despite this game appearing in Ken Smales book, there are several newspaper reports saying that Forest were unable to play today as Preston were playing Blackburn Rovers in the Lancashire Cup on that day. The game was also not included in a report of our games for the season, nor could Smales find a team list. It is more than likely that this game did not actually take place.
